Lego store coming to Walden Galleria this summer

There's a new store coming to Walden Galleria and your kids are going to love it.

Western New York's first Lego Store will open at the mall this summer. Right now, the closest ones are in the Rochester suburb of Pittsford and Toronto.

The store will feature a "Pick & Build Wall," which will allow customers to hand pick Lego pieces and buy them by the cup. A "Digital Box" allows users to scan Lego box sets and see a digital 3D rendering of the completed set. A "Build-a-Mini Tower" will let customers mix and match body parts, hair pieces and accessories to build their own mini Lego action figure.

In keeping with retail trends, the store will feature in-store play areas, activities and events, including free build challenges. It will also offer toys and play sets that are available only at Lego stores and on the Lego website.

The Lego store will open at the mall on the lower level in a 2,300-square-foot space near Dick's Sporting Goods. The mall has not yet announced an opening date.
