Courtney Speckmann, a trustee of the Buffalo Presidential Center, will lecture on “World War II in the White House” in a free event at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Buffalo and Erie County Central Library, 1 Lafayette Square.
Speckmann is also the education director of the Buffalo & Erie County Naval & Military Park. Her lecture is sponsored by the library, the naval park and the presidential center. It is one of three Buffalo events scheduled for this weekend in honor of Presidents Day, which is Monday.
“JFK,” a controversial political thriller from 1991 about the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, will be shown for free at 11:30 a.m. Feb. 15 at North Park Theatre (1428 Hertel Ave.).
“All The President’s Men,” an award-winning film from 1976 about the newspaper reporters who uncovered the Watergate scandal, will be shown at 11:30 a.m. Feb. 16 in the North Park. Admission is $8.50 for that event.
The films are presented by the presidential center and North Park Theatre.
