Police still searching for mother accused of leaving infant at Falls casino hotel

The Niagara Falls Police Department is trying to locate a Buffalo woman who allegedly abandoned her infant next to an ice machine in the Seneca Niagara Casino Hotel last month.

Police said that Sherone Littleton, 28, left her infant at the hotel on Jan. 31. She is facing felony charges of first-degree reckless endangerment and abandonment of a child, in addition to a misdemeanor charge of endangering the welfare of a child.

After what police describe as detectives' exhaustive attempts to have Littleton turn herself in, they are requesting the public's help in locating her.

Littleton, whose last known address is on Hewitt Avenue, told a detective that she was in Ohio, but Niagara Falls Police said in a release that "we do not believe that is accurate."

Police ask that anyone with any information about Littleton's whereabouts call the Niagara Falls Police Department at 286-4711.

Buffalo Common Council President Darius G. Pridgen has made a personal plea for Littleton to turn herself in via his Facebook page.

"If you know her, help her, or help me help her. Many things happen in life that make us make questionable decisions," Pridgen wrote. "I am here to help you do what you have to do."
