Michael J. Goodale of Grimsby, Ont., will serve as chairman of the Niagara Falls Bridge Commission this year, the commission announced Friday.
The six-member panel governs the agency that owns and operates the Rainbow, Whirlpool and Lewiston-Queenston bridges over the Niagara River. Three members each are chosen by the governor of New York and the premier of Ontario.
It's the second time as chairman for Goodale, who also held the gavel in 2012. He's a retired official of the Ontario Ministry of Transportation.
Kathleen L. Neville of Wilson was chosen vice chairwoman. A public relations and brand management professional, Neville also is a member of the Niagara University board of trustees. Charles McShane, a retired Canadian firefighter, was named secretary, and Richard Palladino of Royalton, business manager of Laborers' Local 91, is this year's treasurer.
Frank A. Soda, a former Niagara Falls city councilman, and Barton Maves, a former member of the Ontario provincial parliament, are the other board members.
