Break over for Beauts, return to ice in New Jersey

Buffalo is back in action for the first time in a month as the Beauts will challenge the Metropolitan Riveters at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday at ProSkate in Monmouth Junction, N.J.

It will be Buffalo’s first regular season contest since Jan. 12. The team is currently on an eight-game losing streak.

The Beauts (6-11-1) haven’t enjoyed a victory since Nov. 30, a 6-2 win against Connecticut. Since that game, the team has been outscored 48-19.

The Riveters (8-9-1) snapped a three-game losing skid with a win against Connecticut on Jan. 26.

Madison Packer leads the team with 29 points, a stat that has her third in the league. She was a team captain at the NWHL All-Star game last week.

Buffalo will be without the services of Brooke Stacey for the rest of the season. On Feb. 4, Stacey announced that she and her partner, Dylan Smith, are expecting their first child.

Stacey will finish the season with 16 points, eight goals and eight assists.

She made her last NWHL appearance of the season at the league All-Star game as a passer in the accuracy shooting event of the skills competition.
