Lumagination at the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens (2655 South Park Ave.)
Head to the Botanical Gardens after sunset with your significant other for a magical journey through the indoor gardens.
After dusk, the gardens’ interior is colorfully illuminated to evoke imagination and creativity among viewers who can see the many varieties of plants, flowers and minerals under spectacular light displays. Attendees will also see simulated salt caves and stalactites, wooden sculptures, balancing stones, geodes and crystals along the garden paths. Time: 6 to 10 p.m.
Enjoy a happy hour before or after making your way through the exhibit with live music and Salvatore’s Hospitality from 5 to 8 p.m.
Valentine’s Movie Night at the Screening Room Cinema Cafe (Boulevard Mall)
Enjoy a classic movie night out with your partner at the locally owned Screening Room. The boutique cinema will be showing two classic romantic films: "Casablanca" (7 p.m.) and "The Princess Bride "(9:30 p.m.). Spend your evening relaxing with a beverage of choice in the cafe-style theater room filled with eclectic seating, movie posters and paraphernalia. The Valentine’s package includes two movie tickets to either film, two drinks, popcorn and two chocolate sundaes for $40.
Axes & O’s at Hatchets and Hops (505 Main St.)
Hatchets and Hops is hosting a special event that involves ax-throwing and Valentine’s themed tattoos. When you reserve your ax-throwing session for Feb. 14, you’ll get a free glass of champagne, a $10 heart-shaped pizza and $30 flash tattoo bookings from the Huntsman. Time: 5:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
Valentine's Day Couples Paint Party at Paint the Town Studio (74 Allen St.)
Relax and unwind with your valentine while enjoying a fun paint night in a cozy, artsy Allentown shop atmosphere. Nibble on sweet treats and sip on a drink while you paint. Whether you’re an experienced artist or amateur, you’ll enjoy making your own take-home masterpiece under the instruction of a skilled professional from Paint the Town. Buffalo’s picturesque Theatre District is a romantic backdrop for the night, with plenty of restaurants and bars to accommodate your evening out. Time: 8 p.m. on Valentine's Day with performances through Feb. 16.
Valentine's Weekend with Rachel Feinstein at Helium Comedy Club (30 Mississippi St.)
Located in Buffalo’s Cobblestone District, Helium Comedy Club is at the center of a fun night out for couples. Spend your evening laughing hysterically with your partner while enjoying drinks, appetizers and a special Valentine’s Day treat. Rachel Feinstein, a nationally touring comedian and actress appearing on Amazon’s “Red Oaks,” HBO’s comedy “Crashing” and more, is performing a special Valentine’s Day stand-up act for couples. The “Valentine’s Day for Two” package includes two tickets and chocolate strawberries. Times: 7:30 and 10 p.m. with other shows available.
