National architectural and engineering firm Bergmann PC has expanded its Buffalo office, looking to capitalize on the growing redevelopment activity.
The Rochester-based company, which employs more than 400 across the Northeast, Midwest and Atlantic regions, relocated its downtown office from 7,700 square feet in the Waterfront Village office complex to a larger 12,000-square-foot space on the floor above.
It currently employs 38 in Buffalo, but plans to add up to 20 more both immediately and in the near future, officials said. That includes a landscape architect, a project architect, project managers, engineers and a marketing proposal coordinator.
Much of the 40-year-old firm's local growth has been driven by its buildings practice – including architecture, urban planning and landscape design. Local projects have included the Allen Street extension, Niagara Street streetscape and the Flight of Five lock rehabilitation in Lockport. Bergmann also works with the Erie County Department of Public Works and is designing the reuse of Terminal B in the Outer Harbor.
