CLOSE TO HOME – Celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday by getting to know Buffalo’s African American history. Free tours will be offered hourly from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Michigan Street African American Heritage Corridor.
Tours will include the Nash House Museum, 36 Nash St.; the Michigan Street Baptist Church, 511 Michigan Ave.; the Colored Musicians Club Museum, 145 Broadway; and the WUFO Radio Archives, 143 Broadway.

LACE UP – Registration is open online for the winter series of skating lessons classes at Cornerstone Arena, I Grigg Lewis Way, in downtown Lockport. They include Learn to Skate, Learn to Skate for Hockey Classes, Learn to Skate for Adults and Basic Skills for Parents and Tots. Classes begin Jan. 24 for all ages and skill levels. Fee is $96. The arena also will be open for a Late Night Cheap Skate at 8:25 p.m. Friday, with $5 admission and $5 skate rentals, and for Late Night Ice Bumper Cars from 9:15 to 10:30 p.m. Friday, with $7 rides.

¿HABLA INGLÉS? – A special English as a Second Language version of the admission test for Mensa, the international organization for smart people, will be given at 2 p.m. Jan. 25 in the Community Meeting Room behind Dollar Tree in Southgate Plaza, 950 Union Road, West Seneca.
