Buffalo’s two comedy clubs both have shows that will add a ton of laughs to your party night.
Canadian comic Jon Dore performs two shows at Helium Comedy Club in downtown Buffalo at 8 and 10:30 p.m. Dec. 31. At the beginning of his comedy career, Dore appeared on several television shows north of the border, including “Canadian Idol,” “Comedy Now!,” stand-up specials, and his own mockumentary program, “The Jon Dore Television Show” (2007-09). Over the past decade, Dore has grown a following with American audiences with performances on “Live at Gotham,” “Conan,” “Inside Amy Schumer,” “How to Live with Your Parents” and “How I Met Your Mother.” His latest special, “Big Questions, Huge Answers,” premiered on Comedy Central last year.
Regular admission tickets to the shows range from $34 to $59. Helium also is offering a show and four-course dinner package priced at $89 for 8 p.m. and $99 for 10:30 p.m. All ticket buyers will receive a free voucher for a future Helium show, along with party favors and champagne toast at midnight. Over at Rob’s Comedy Playhouse (1340 N. Forest Road), popular Rochester act Uncle Trent returns to headline at 10 p.m. Dec. 31.
