PEN IN HAND – Local author Priscilla Y. Hill will hold the first copies of her new book, “Whisperers of Secrets: A Community of Short Stories,” a collection of African American experiences in Buffalo from pre-Civil War to the present, at 1 p.m. Sunday in New Covenant United Church of Christ, 459 Clinton St.
Additional signing are scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. next Friday in Outside the Box in the carriage house at 1272 Delaware Ave., and from 4 to 6 p.m. Dec. 14 in the Frank E. Merriweather Library, 1324 Jefferson Ave. The book also is available at amazon.com or by emailing pghill@roadrunner.com.

IN THE TRADITION – District IX, Polish Singers’ Alliance of America, will offer its annual Festival of Polish Christmas Carols at 3:30 p.m. Sunday in St. Stanislaus Church, Peckham and Townsend streets. A free-will offering will be accepted.
