ROYAL WISH – Actress and storyteller Denise Reichard will present “More Than a Magi,” a story about a fourth king who wants to see the Baby Jesus in Bethlehem, at 7 p.m. Monday in the gym St. Martha Parish/OLBS School, 10 French Road, Depew. Music from the Lancaster High School Mixed Chorus and Show Tune Choir follows at 7:45. Admission is free. A donation of cash or a non-perishable food item for the church’s food pantry will be appreciated.

SWEET TALK – Cornell Cooperative Extension will hold its Western New York Maple School and Trade Show for commercial maple producers and hobbyists from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Dec. 7 in Attica Central School, 3338 E. MAINSTAYS – The East Amherst Fire Department on Transit Road, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary, includes three members whose active service totals more than a century and a half. Ed McGrew Jr. has devoted 55 years as a volunteer, Mel Spoth has been active for 56 years and John Moulin has served with the department for 61 years, including a term as fire chief.

COLLEGE CASH – Applications are being accepted by the Buffalo Branch of the American Association of University Women for three college scholarship programs for women. Two $5,000 Women Entering College scholarships are available for Erie and Niagara County high school senior girls heading for college in 2020. Two $4,000 Catalyst for Change scholarships are offered for women living in Western New York or attending college here. And two $8,000 Olga Lindberg scholarships will be given to women going on to graduate studies.
