A Camden man and a woman from Buffalo were the top finishers in the 124th annual YMCA Turkey Trot Thursday morning.
The YMCA announced that Sam Morse, of Camden, was the first male finisher with a time of 23:54. Morse was a star runner at Clarkson University and competed in the 2016 Olympic Trials Marathon. He has regularly been the top Central New York runner at the Utica Boilermaker 15K.
Kelsey Gratien, of Amherst, was the first female finisher with a time of 28:43. Gratien was named the Buffalo News Runner of the Year in 2018 and finished second among women in the Corporate Challenge last June.
Thousands of people took part in the annual 8K Thanksgiving Day race, which runs a 4.97-mile course along Delaware Avenue. The race wraps up with parties at the Convention Center and Statler City.
