BN Outdoor Calendar (Nov. 27, 2019)

Nov. 28 – Gobble Walk at Woodlawn Beach State Park from 10 a.m. to noon. Call 549-1050 to register for the program.

Nov. 29 – Opt Outside Hike at the Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge, Kanyoo Trail from 10 a.m. to noon, Basom.

Nov. 29 - Islands duck blind lottery drawing at the Falconwood, Beaver Island State Park at 6:30 p.m. These will be for Beaver Island, Strawberry Island, Motor Island and West River Parkway. Drawings will take place every Monday, Wednesday and Friday until the season closes.

Nov. 29 - Duck blind lottery drawing for Joseph Davis, Fort Niagara, Wilson-Tuscarora and Golden Hill state parks at the Fort Niagara Park maintenance building starting at 6:30 p.m. The lottery drawing normally takes place every Thursday. Call 745-7273 for more information.

Nov. 30 – Final day, muskellunge season in most of New York State. The exception is the lower Niagara River, Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River, which is open through Dec. 15.

Nov. 30 – Final day, regular bass season in New York.

Nov. 30 – Western Zone duck season reopens through Jan. 5.

Nov. 30 – Opening day, Pennsylvania regular big game season. Bucks only the first 6 days.

Dec. 1 – Lake trout season opens in the Province of Ontario for the lower Niagara River and Lake Ontario.

Dec. 1 – Special Lake Erie bass season begins allowing anglers to keep one bass at least 20 inches long.

Dec. 1 – Catch and release bass fishing season in place throughout most of update New York. Consult the DEC regulations at www.dec.ny.gov for specific details. Artificial lures only.

Dec. 1 – Final day, West Central Canada goose season.

Dec. 1 – John Henning Memorial Musky Tournament in the lower Niagara River from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., hosted by the Niagara Musky Association. Call or text Scott Kitchen at 939-0006 if you intend to fish with names and cell phone numbers. Catch and release.

Dec. 3 – Niagara Musky Association monthly meeting, held at the Eldredge Club, 17 Broad Street, Tonawanda, starting at 7 p.m.

Dec. 3 – Postmark deadline for applying for 2020 BOW in the SNOW at Allegany State Park Feb. 7-9, 2020. Cost is $240. Contact https://www.dec.ny.gov/docs/administration_pdf/2020bowinthesnow.pdf

Dec. 10 – Second Amendment forever monthly meeting at the Wilson Conservation Club, 2934 Wilson-Cambria Road (Route 425), Wilson, starting at 7 p.m. Guest speaker will be Senator Rob Ortt.

Dec. 10 – Niagara County Federation of Conservation Club’s Christmas meeting for delegates only at Josie’s, West Avenue, Lockport, starting at 6 p.m. Contact Chris Schotz at 731-1641.

Dec. 12 – Joint meeting of the Lake Ontario Trout and Salmon Association and the Niagara County Fisheries Development Board at North Amherst Fire Company, 2200 Tonawanda Creek Road, Amherst, starting at 7 p.m. Tentative guest speaker will be Steve Hurst, Chief of the Bureau of Fisheries for DEC.

Dec. 13 – Ten X Shooting Club Youth Rifle Shooting Program for ages 9 through 20. New and first-time shooters should arrive at 6 p.m. Shooting begins at 6:30 p.m. Membership is not required. Cost is $3 per night but no shooter is turned away. Call Matt Giansante at 622-0705 for more info.

Dec. 14 – Deadline for comments on the proposed Great Lakes fishing regulations changes.
