The Buffalo News editorial on the absence casino funding was spot on. I say three strikes and you’re out. That message should be sent to the Seneca Nation over their refusal to pay New York the money they promised to pay in the compact they signed. It’s time New York takes action to recover the funds owed, as well as all future funds. I propose New York start installing permanent manned toll booths on every road leading and leaving all of the Seneca casinos.
Patrons and employees of the Seneca Nation can pay a toll entering and leaving the casino property. After all, we pay a toll entering Canada. This action will not only recover the money it is owed, it will also create new permanent jobs that will be filled by taxpayers of the town or city they represent.
I’m sure New York has a few toll booths sitting around in some warehouse that were removed from the Thruway. Enough is enough.
