Man sentenced to 69 months in prison for possession of drugs, firearm

A Buffalo man has been sentenced in U.S. District Court to serve 69 months in prison, following his conviction on charges of possession with intent to distribute heroin and possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking activity, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

Prosecutors said that, on five occasions between Oct. 17 and Nov. 22, 2017, Leon R. Williams, 40, sold heroin to an individual working with law enforcement investigators.

A Nov. 29, 2017, search warrant executed at Williams' Texas Street residence uncovered heroin, cocaine, scales, razor blades and $73,743 in cash.

In addition, a .40-caliber Glock was seized, along with a magazine containing 10 rounds of ammunition loaded into the firearm, prosecutors said.
