Buffalo man arrested on drug, weapon charges after traffic stop

A Buffalo man was arrested for DWI as well as drug and weapon possession charges, following a traffic stop Friday on the Interstate 190, according to State Police.

Troopers said a vehicle operated by 31-year-old Johnny D. Moore Jr. was stopped shortly after 10 p.m., when Moore was allegedly determined to have been intoxicated and taken into custody.

During a search of the vehicle, troopers found a loaded Smith & Wesson .357 magnum handgun, about 12 grams of cocaine and more than seven ounces of marijuana, according to State Police. A further investigation revealed the firearm had allegedly been stolen.

Moore was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of marijuana and driving while intoxicated.

Moore was taken into custody and transported to the Erie County Holding Center.
