Gunfire call ends in arrest and confiscation of two handguns

A "shots fired" call and quick response by police late Friday night resulted in the arrest of a Buffalo man spotted by police as he was walking away from a vehicle on East Delavan Avenue near Jefferson Avenue.

Northeast District police spotted Winston Reese stepping from his vehicle, which contained two loaded handguns, officers said. Police also found 17 spent shell casings at the scene. Gunfire damaged a window to an East Delavan home and a car, according to police.

Reese, 32, of Jefferson Avenue, was charged with criminal possession of weapons.
