Driver of car registered to 'GODSENT' arrested on weapons charge

A man driving a car with an Indiana registration that listed "GODSENT" as the apparent owner of the vehicle was arrested Friday evening after police found a handgun and ammunition in the car, Ferry-Fillmore District police said.

Officers said they stopped the car, which had two different license plates, at Paderewski Drive and Fillmore Avenue. The driver, they said, refused to answer whether he had any weapons. A search turned up three .45 caliber magazines inside the car and a .45 caliber handgun in the trunk.

Willie Brown, whose age and address were unavailable, was charged with second-degree possession of a weapon.
