St. Bonaventure (1-1) women’s basketball earned its first win of the year, defeating Niagara 71-67 in overtime Thursday night.
Asianae Johnson made two free throws with 17 seconds remaining to tie and send the game to overtime at 65-65. Niagara missed two shots on their final possession of regulation as the Bonnies overcame a 10-point fourth quarter deficit.
In overtime, Johnson scored three of St. Bonaventure’s six points, to increase her point total to 15. Niagara’s only points were from a Olivia Mason layup. Jai Moore led all scorers with 22 for Niagara (0-1).
