State assessment teams will be in Western New York Friday to calculate the damage to public infrastructure, according to Hamburg Emergency Services Manager Sean Crotty.
"We are aware the damage sustained is not limited to the Hoover Beach area. If your home sustained damage from the Halloween Storm, we need you to notify us so you can be counted in the damage assessment," Crotty said in a Facebook post.
He said Hamburg is working with the state Emergency Management Office to gather damage estimates to share with the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
"This by no means guarantees any reimbursement or assistance from any local, county, state or federal program," he said.
Anyone with damage in Hamburg should email Crotty at email@example.com with his or her name, address, phone number, list, description and photos of damages and a cost estimate by Thursday evening.
Crotty called Friday's visit the "best case scenario" so the town can have answers to questions about the damage "sooner than later."
