Organizers of the YMCA Buffalo Niagara Turkey Trot say that spots are filling up fast and registration is expected to close out next week.
Around 1,250 spots are available for the 124th annual race, the YMCA announced Wednesday morning.
The 8K run/walk will close out registration once it reaches its capacity of 14,000 participants; the race is capped for safety reasons. The race usually closes out in the first or second week of November.
The race starts at 9 a.m. Nov. 28 outside the Delaware Avenue Family YMCA and ends at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center.
Register online at ymcaturkeytrot.org.
The cost is $41. The entry fee includes a commemorative T-shirt and after-parties at the convention center and nearby Statler City.
Proceeds benefit the YMCA Buffalo Niagara Financial Assistance Program, which provides programs and services to those who cannot otherwise afford them. Last year’s Turkey Trot allowed the YMCA to provide $1.4 million in such assistance to more than 2,800 families.
