An 80-year-old woman died in an early Tuesday morning fire in Lyndonville, according to the Orleans County Office of Emergency Management.
Minnie M. Holt died as a result of the house fire on Roosevelt Highway, between Hall and Breeze roads.
The fire was responded to just before 5 a.m.
The cause and origin of the fire is still under investigation, according to the Orleans County Sheriff's Office.
Undersheriff Christopher Bourke told reporters that the woman's dog also died in the fire.
Officials said multiple mutual aid agencies assisted in the response as well as Orleans County Fire Investigators and New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control Fire Investigators.
