Hamburg couple arrested while allegedly trying to cross Peace Bridge with marijuana

A Hamburg couple that allegedly attempted to enter the United States with marijuana made an appearance in federal court on charges that could send them each to prison for a maximum of two years, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

Prosecutors said Narriana Gray and Briana Gray, both 19, were arrested and charged by criminal complaint with entry of goods by means of false statements and possession of marijuana on Oct. 5, after they allegedly attempted to enter the United States from Canada, at the Peace Bridge.

Both made an initial appearance before U.S. Magistrate Judge H. Kenneth Schroeder Jr. and were released, prosecutors said.
