Major Gen. Patrick A. Murphy, commissioner of the state’s division of homeland security and emergency services, will give the keynote address Saturday at an emergency management and community preparedness conference at Niagara University.
The free conference – open to all members of the community – will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Lunch and refreshments will be provided. Students in NU’s criminal justice administration master’s degree program will serve as facilitators.
Topics include FEMA’s strategic plan, access and functional needs, caring for children and animals in shelters, first responder mental health and emergency medical skills.
