A shooting victim was arrested after a lump of suspected crack cocaine was found in his clothing while he was being treated for his wound, Niagara Falls police reported.
Emanuel L. Rogers, 38, of B Street, had been brought to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center with a wound to the left side of his chest and was later transferred to Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo.
Police said Rogers told them he was leaving a store at 18th Street and Willow Avenue about 11:20 p.m. when he heard shots, discovered that his shirt was wet and realized he had been struck by a bullet. A passerby drove him to the hospital.
After testing the substance found in his clothing, police charged Rogers with fourth-degree criminal possession of a narcotic drug.
