Dress for Success Buffalo – part of a global nonprofit that helps women thrive in the workplace and in life – will host a grand opening from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in its new digs in North Buffalo.
The regional affiliate outgrew a 2-year-old office on Hertel Avenue and several weeks ago set up shop about four blocks away in a larger, 2,300-square-foot storefront at 1256 Hertel.
Executive Director Michelle Barron said the new location includes fitting rooms, a donation area and a career center.
Dress for Success Buffalo has provided about 1,000 women with interview and employment attire, as well as programs to help them find and keep long-term employment. It is one of more than 160 affiliates in 29 countries that collectively have helped 1 million women work toward self-sufficiency.
