Zay Jones gives thankful goodbye to Buffalo and Bills

Wide receiver Zay Jones was traded from the Buffalo Bills to the Oakland Raiders in exchange for a fifth-round draft pick in 2021, the teams announced Wednesday.

Jones took to Twitter on Wednesday night to thank the Bills organization, coaches, teammates and fans for his time in Buffalo.

"I don’t take the time I had for granted," Jones wrote.

Jones, still only 24, made minimal impact as a rookie in 2017, catching 27 passes for 316 yards after being a second-round pick. That kind of production isn’t uncommon for receivers, even those picked in the first or second round. After a turbulent and injury-plagued offseason, Jones played better in 2018, catching 56 passes for 652 yards and seven touchdowns. He had seven receptions in five games this season and played just one special teams snap in Sunday's win against Tennessee.
