Two Wyoming County men have been arrested for hindering an investigation into a suspected heroin overdose death in the Town of Perry, according to the Wyoming County Sheriff's Office.
Kristofer Hubbard, 36, of Silver Springs, and Dustin Hernandez, 34, of Castile, were both charged with second-degree hindering prosecution. Hubbard was also charged with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance; Hernandez was also charged with tampering with physical evidence.
Hubbard allegedly "assisted with arranging for others to buy narcotics from another individual" while Hernandez allegedly hid and destroyed evidence at the crime scene, deputies said. Both are also being accused of lying to investigators.
Both men are being held in Wyoming County Jail; Hubbard in lieu of $50,000 cash bail and Hernandez in lieu of $15,000 cash bail.
The suspected heroin overdose took place in September. Officials said no information will be released in regards to the victim's identity "out of respect to the victim's family."
Officials said additional arrests or charges are still possible.
