Tonawanda woman charged for hitting man with her vehicle

A Town of Tonawanda woman was arrested for striking a man with her vehicle early Saturday morning in the city's Fruit Belt neighborhood, Buffalo police said.

Police accused Krystal E. Washington, 24, of Commodore Avenue, of hitting a Buffalo man with the 2007 Chevy Impala that she was driving around 1:30 a.m. Saturday at the corner of Lemon and High streets, according to police reports. Washington was charged with second-degree assault.

The victim, Quentin Carpenter, no age available, of Erb Street, was knocked unconscious and taken to Erie County Medical Center with a severe head injury, according to police.

Police obtained cell phone footage of the incident from a witness.
