No hazmat threat found at Eggertsville 'chemically assisted suicide'

An incident Amherst police described as a possible "chemically assisted suicide" drew hazmat crews to an Eggertsville home overnight.

Police received a noise complaint at a home on Garland Drive at 11:34 p.m. Tuesday, Amherst police said in a news release Wednesday morning. Additional emergency responders were called to the scene, but police now say there was no danger to anyone outside the home.

One person was found dead inside the home, said police, who did not release any further detail about the situation. An investigation continues.
