Husband sentenced in gas station robberies; wife awaits her day in court

Justin R. Jenkins of the Town of Tonawanda, who along with wife Heather M. Jenkins admitted to robbing six gas station convenience stores in Erie County and four in Niagara County, was sentenced Thursday to 15 years in prison for the Niagara County holdups.

State Supreme Court Justice Richard C. Kloch Sr. imposed the sentence in Lockport. Kloch said when Jenkins pleaded guilty June 3 that he intended the sentence to be served simultaneously with whatever Jenkins receives in Erie County.

Justin Jenkins, 46, is scheduled to be sentenced for six Erie County robberies Sept. 20 by County Judge James Bargnesi, who could impose up to 45 years in prison.

Heather Jenkins, 45, who drove the getaway car, is awaiting sentencing in both counties. She admitted to four counts of attempted second-degree robbery in Niagara County and three counts of second-degree robbery in Erie County. She could receive up to 28 years in prison from Kloch on Sept. 25 and 21 years from Justice John L. Michalski in Buffalo on Nov. 4.
