Man says he was robbed by ex's new boyfriend

A 16th Street man said he was robbed of $100 Friday afternoon by his former girlfriend’s new boyfriend, Niagara Falls Police reported.

The 67-year-old victim told police the woman, with whom he had ended a relationship, came to his home and said she wanted to save the romance. When she asked him for money for dinner, he told police, he heard a man climbing over the back fence and went outside to confront him.

The two spoke briefly, the victim told police, then went back inside, where the visitor grabbed him by the neck and demanded “payment” for having interacted with the woman, who he said was his girlfriend. The victim gave him $100 from his pocket and he left. The woman also left, the victim told police, with another man who had arrived there.

The victim reportedly told police he would forego pressing charges if his money was returned.
