If you're interested in an electric car, the Niagara Power Project in Lewiston is the place to check them out Saturday.
From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Power Vista on Lewiston Road next to Niagara University will offer test drives of the major electric models, including the Tesla Model 3 and Model S, the Chevrolet Volt and electrics manufactured by Nissan and Mitsubishi.
Drivers must sign up in advance online at ElectricCarGuestDrive.com/lewiston.
The state continues to offer a $2,000 tax rebate for the purchase or lease of an all-electric car or a plug-in hybrid from participating dealers.
The New York Power Authority has committed to spend up to $250 million through 2025 to assist electric vehicle drivers. A network of fast-charging stations is placed at 40- to 50-mile intervals on key travel corridors, along with charging stations in Buffalo, Rochester, Yonkers, Albany and Syracuse, and a 10-charger station at John F. Kennedy Airport in New York City.
