Ty Nsekhe has 'knee tweak,' John Brown not playing for Bills

Wide receiver John Brown, centers Mitch Morse and Russell Bodine and tight ends Dawson Knox and Jason Croom are among the Bills players not expected to play in Friday night's preseason game against the Carolina Panthers.

Tackle Ty Nsekhe was in street clothes on the sideline and will not play. Nsekhe came out of practice Wednesday.

General Manager Brandon Beane said on the WKBW pregame show that Nsekhe has a "knee tweak."

"He's fine. He'll be back next week. We just want to be cautious."

Beane also said that Morse continues to progress and is "trending in the right direction" as he continues to come back from a concussion.

Tackle Connor McDermott remains in the concussion protocol.

The starting offensive line in warmups is Dion Dawkins, Quinton Spain, Jon Feliciano, Spencer Long and Cody Ford.

Running back Frank Gore was not expected to play but is in uniform. The Bills plan to give the first-team carries to LeSean McCoy in his first preseason action after sitting out last week to give Gore an opportunity.

Linebacker Corey Thompson also is not playing. He has a groin injury.
