Speedway's takeover of seven former Noco Express stores has ended with the loss of two quick-serve Tim Hortons locations.
Tim Hortons shops in the former Noco stores on Kenmore Avenue and on Elmwood Avenue near Lexington Avenue have closed.
The two affected Tim Hortons locations were franchised by Noco, and those contracts weren't included in Speedway's acquisition deal, according to a spokesperson for Marathon Petroleum. Marathon owns the Speedway convenience store and gas station chain.
Speedway has replaced the two Tim Hortons locations with its own coffee program and is evaluating additional options. Speedway's remaining Tim Hortons locations will continue to operate under third-party leases according to their lease terms, Marathon said.
