Elderly Niagara Falls woman struck while riding her bike dies of injuries

An elderly Niagara Falls woman who was struck by a vehicle Monday while riding her bicycle on Hyde Park Boulevard has died from her injuries, according to the Niagara Falls Police Department.

Police said 86-year-old Beverly Laughlan was heading west on Hyde Park Boulevard around 11:30 a.m. when a vehicle operated by a 75-year-old Lewiston man was traveling east on Grand Avenue and came to a stop at a stop sign on Hyde Park Boulevard. As the vehicle driver was making a left turn on to Hyde Park Boulevard, he collided with Laughlan, police said.

Laughlan was transported to Erie County Medical Center, where she succumbed to her injuries.

Niagara Falls Police Department Capt. Angela Munn said the crash management team is continuing its investigation into the crash.
