State waterfront directors on Monday approved millions of dollars for architectural and engineering services for three previously announced projects on the Outer Harbor.
The projects will bring upgrades to First Buffalo Marina, the former Terminal B building and 160 acres of Outer Harbor land between the southern end of the site and Wilkeson Pointe, which will also see enhancements.
"Most of these improvements will occur over mostly vacant and underutilized land," said Steve Ranalli, president of Erie Canal Harbor Development Corp.
The engineering and architectural costs for the three projects total $5.6 million, with contingencies approved that could raise the total amount to $6.4 million.
The funds will come from the New York Power Authority relicensing agreement.
