Letter: Environmental protections are being stripped to death

In the era Republicans controlled agencies, big business had become more and more in control of policy. The latest is the GOP-controlled Environmental Protection Agency’s refusal to re-ban insecticide Dow chemical’s chlorpyrifos.

The chemical is used by the millions of pounds in the United States each year and is linked to brain damage in children.

The Obama administration announced in 2015 that it would ban chlorpyrifos but big corporation money has a bigger vote than the health of the American people.

Not unlike asbestos and when gasoline had tetraethyl lead, whose dangers were well known for decades, the big corporate money and lobbyist spread disinformation, so thousands died of brain damage and lung cancer.

Will we be rolled over and play dead?
