Name: Brendan Francis O'Connor, 25.
Who he is: The North Tonawanda native graduated from SUNY Fredonia where he majored in political science. He now works in county government in downtown Buffalo and lives in Amherst. He attended Cardinal O'Hara High School for three years and graduated from North Tonawanda High School. He broke both wrists eight weeks ago inline skating in Delaware Park and had the casts removed this week. While he sports the no-socks look, he is not opposed to wearing no-show socks.
What he's wearing: Custom double-breasted suit coat from Jos. A. Bank in Orchard Park; white French-cuffed oxford by Calvin Klein; his father's cuff links; red knit tie; blue-and-red pocket square from Sprezza; "Hipster Glasses" tie bar from Sprezza; white, slim-fit chinos by Tommy Hilfiger; and red driver shoes by Calvin Klein. His favorite stores include Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, ASOS and Zara.
Signature pieces: His red loafers and "Hipster Glasses" tie bar – easily the most noticed, most commented on and trendiest pieces of his collection, he said. "I've collected dozens of tie bars, clips and pins over the years, and it's almost impossible for me to ever pick one that isn't the glasses (tie bar)," he said.
Fashion statement: "My fashion philosophy is young, professional and poised for the future. In an environment of monochromatic suits, you have to do something to stand out and get noticed. You want to look like you mean business – but have fun doing it," he said.
Recent purchase: A skinny-fit gray, double-breasted blazer from Topman. "You don't see a lot of double-breasted blazers on this side of the Atlantic these days, and I think there's beauty in the rarity alone," he said.
In the market for: "New shoes that I definitely don't need more of," he said. "Every time I go to the Galleria mall, I point at the same pair of loafers and tell the clerk that I'll be back for them someday," he said.
