Local production for the movie "A Quiet Place 2" is coming to North Tonawanda.
The Common Council is to vote Aug. 6 on an agreement with Paramount Pictures for the filmmakers to use Stenzil Street Field, a baseball park, from Sept. 3 to 13 for a flat fee of $5,000. City Attorney Luke A. Brown told the Council in a memorandum that a further agreement will be made to cover police, fire, public works and other expenses.
Newfane Supervisor Timothy R. Horanburg said that when the movie crew set up in Olcott for three days in early July – one day of preparation, one day of shooting and one day to clean up – the town was paid $3,750, the operators of the Olcott Beach Carousel were paid $1,000, and Lakeview Village Shoppes was paid $3,000 to compensate it for having to close.
Akron Village Clerk Jayne DeTine said she was "not at liberty" to reveal how much that village was paid for shooting that began July 15 and ended July 29.
