LeSean McCoy returns to practice; injury updates at Bills camp

Running back LeSean McCoy returned to practice Thursday at Bills training camp at St. John Fisher after an excused absence for personal reasons Wednesday.

The Buffalo Bills have not commented on the reason for McCoy's absence.

Seven players did not participate Thursday because of injuries: safety Micah Hyde (neck), guard Quinton Spain (ankle), center Mitch Morse (concussion), defensive tackle Robert Thomas (knee), defensive end Jerry Hughes (ankle), TE Jason Croom (hamstring) and TE Dawson Knox (hamstring).

Right guard Spencer Long returned to practice after missing a day with knee soreness. Kicker Stephen Hauschka also returned to practice after an ankle injury.

With Morse and Spain out, the Bills' first team offensive line from left to right was Dion Dawkins, Long, Russell Bodine, John Feliciano and Ty Nsekhe. Rookie Cody Ford is rotating in with the starters at right tackle. During the second set of an 11-on-11 session, he was in and Nsekhe moved over to the left side.

Several players are getting veteran rest days: running back Frank Gore, defensive end Trent Murphy, tight end Lee Smith, defensive tackle Star Lotulelei and offensive tackle LaAdrian Waddle.
