Amherst man who pleaded guilty to sexual abuse sentenced to 6 years

An Amherst man who pleaded guilty to first-degree sexual abuse has been sentenced in State Supreme Court to six years in prison, followed by 10 years of post-release supervision, according to the Erie County District Attorney's Office.

Prosecutors said 42-year-old Ibrahim Amin, of Amherst, on May 16, 2015, subjected a female victim to sexual contact by forcible consent at a location in Amherst.

Amin pleaded guilty on June 3 to the felony charge against him.

He will be required to register as a sex offender upon his release, prosecutors said.
