Andrew Luck will be held out of the Colts' preseason opener against the Bills next week at New Era Field, according to multiple reports.
Luck is dealing with a lingering calf injury and will not practice this week.
Coach Frank Reich told reporters that Luck might have played if it were a regular-season game, but there is no use risking further injury in the preseason. The injury has been bothering Luck for roughly three months and Reich said Luck remains in pain.
The Colts face the Bills next Thursday at 7 p.m. during the 18th annual Kids Day Game.
Luck says he feels good throwing from a stationary position. Just does not want to test the calf now will take it day by day
