Two kayakers who ran into trouble on the Buffalo River around 4 p.m. Sunday and stopped their kayaks near the U.S. Coast Guard station were assisted by the Coast Guard, a spokesman said.
The pair "were having problems, because the river is pretty rough today," the spokesman said. "Between the wind and the boat wakes, there was water getting into the kayaks, so they were pulled up over by our station."
Personnel from the Coast Guard station on Fuhrmann Boulevard helped the two out by pulling their kayaks up on shore and getting them transportation to pick up their kayaks.
"They are safe and sound," the spokesman said.
