Name: Jimmy Stelianou, 30.
Who he is: DJ who works primarily through CJ Sound and plays music at school dances, proms, corporate parties, bar/bat mitzvahs and other events including the Starry Night in the Garden, an annual outdoor concert and fundraiser at the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens. The Kenmore native moved to East Amherst with his family in 1999. He graduated from Williamsville East in 2008 and attended the SAE Institute, an audio engineering school in New York City.
"I have the greatest job in the world. I wouldn't trade it for anything," he said. "I get to meet a lot of people and go a lot of places ... and I'm always putting people in a good mood. It's just fun."
What songs always get people going? The Cupid Shuffle, by R&B/soul artist Cupid – and music from Pitbull and Bruno Mars.
What he's wearing: Patterned golf pants from Loudmouth; cotton shirt from Express; Nike Air Max 270 shoes; Guess watch from Buckle, Walden Galleria; stone-embellished Williamsville East class ring.
Signature pieces: His watch and class ring. The ring, he said, "turns a lot of heads and looks cool so I like it. People always ask if it's a Super Bowl ring or some high-profile sporting event. It's just flashy."
Fashion statement: "I just want to get up, get dressed, be comfortable for work and look like I'm having fun. I don't want to be dull and boring. There's no reason to be boring," he said.
Last thing he bought: "We're boaters, and I was just in Express and bought two shirts. One has sailboats all over it, and one has anchors all over it. They're cool, designer button-ups," he said
In the market for: "More designer button-ups and DJ equipment. I'm always looking for the latest and greatest equipment," he said.
