The 39th Annual Subaru 4-Mile Chase is set to be run tonight at 7 p.m. The race will begin down Delaware Avenue, loop west around Summer Street to Elmwood Avenue, carry back north towards Forest Avenue and back around to Delaware again.
Multiple elite runners from around the world are signed up to compete in the race. They include:
Mourad Marofit, a 37-year-old Morocco native who represented his nation in the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. He recently placed first at the Medio Marathon 10K in Albacete, Spain.
Lawrence Kipkoech, a 26-year-old Kenya native who was a nine-time All-American while running for Campbell University.
Mark Andrews, a 48-year-old Rochester native who placed first in the Masters category of the race in 2017.
James Ngandu, a 29-year-old native of Kenya, who was the NCAA Division II 10,000-meter champion in 2018 and took first in the Columbus, Ohio 10K.
Raymond Magut, a 21-year-old Kenya native who won the Crazy 8s 8K in Kingsport, Tenn. last Saturday.
Julius Kiptoo, a 41-year-old Kenya native who took second in the Masters category in last year’s 4-mile Chase.
