BLAKELY, Ronald W. "Red"

BLAKELY - Ronald W. "Red"
Of Niagara Falls, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2019 after a brief battle with cancer. He was 85. He was born in Rossiter, Pennsylvania on July 22, 1933, son of the late William and Martha (Fleming) Blakely. He attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. He entered the United States Army in 1953 and served during the Korean Conflict until his honorable discharge in 1955. After serving his country Mr. Blakely worked for Niagara Mohawk, retiring as a service man after 42 years. He was a longtime member of the Niagara Falls Kiwanis Club was a scoutmaster for the local Webelos, he enjoyed travelling, vacationing in Aruba, cruises and he was an avid square dancer and loved playing euchre. Red is survived by his loving wife Marguerite (Amery) Blakely; two children: Sherry Blakely and Scott W. (Debbie) Blakely; and two grandchildren: Katie and Brian. Friends may call at the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, on Friday from 4-8 PM. Funeral Services will be on Saturday at 11 AM in First Baptist Church, 554 Main Street, Niagara Falls, NY 14301. Burial will follow in Riverdale Cemetery in Lewiston.
