Fistfight at Canal Fest leads police to Florida man wanted on gun warrant

A Florida man who allegedly got into a fight at Canal Fest turned out to be wanted on a gun charge in Georgia, according to City of Tonawanda Police.

Police broke up a fistfight between Shawn L. Tukey, 35, of Davie, Fla., and Ronnie O. Hall Jr., 25, of Cambridge, Ohio, on Wednesday night in the festival area, said Capt. Fredric Foels.

Officers were processing the pair on charges of disorderly conduct when they discovered that Tukey was on probation and had an outstanding felony warrant for illegal possession of a gun from the Clayton County Sheriff's Office in Jonesboro, Ga.

Officers confirmed the warrant with their counterparts in Georgia and agreed to hold Tukey on the warrant.

Tukey was taken into custody and has an extradition hearing scheduled for Friday morning.
