A Cheektowaga industrial warehouse used by a truck repair company and Catholic Charities has been acquired by another truck service firm for $1.25 million.
Roy and Maria Pitman, through their Romar WNY Properites LLC, sold the 13,372-square-foot building at 1989 Harlem Road to 240 North Real Estate LLC. The buyer is controlled by Rebecca L. LaPaglia, vice president and co-owner of MERJ Fleet Services in Buffalo.
Built in 1955, the warehouse sits on 4.33 acres, with 10 drive-in and grade-level overhead doors and ceilings as high as 18 feet. The property is assessed at $470,000.
It's one of two regional sites for the Pitmans' Romar Truck Repair & Mechanical Services – along with a second one in Rochester. It's also used by Catholic Charities as a distribution point for its Women, Infants & Children (WIC) program.
Founded in May 2015 by LaPaglia and her husband, Joseph, MERJ employs 28 and offers emergency roadside assistance, towing and repairs for medium and heavy-duty diesel vehicles. The company is located at 1560 Harlem.
