The Bisons will wear blue-and-gold hockey-style jerseys and caps for Hockey Night at the Ballpark on Aug. 16 at Sahlen Field.
The jerseys and caps were designed in collaboration with the Sabres and can be ordered at bisons.com. Tickets for the 7:05 p.m. game against the Durham Bulls are available at that website and the stadium ticket office.
“The Sabres have always been a tremendous downtown partner of the Bisons, and we’re very excited to don the Blue and Gold for the first time in our franchise’s history for what will be a fun night at the ballpark,” said Mike Buczkowski, president of Rich Baseball Operations, in a news release.
According to a news release, the jersey will feature three gold stripes across the bottom and on the sleeves, much like the Sabres jerseys from the 1970s and 1980s. The gold neckline has three "sweater laces" similar to a hockey jersey. The jersey logo on the chest is the Bisons' "standing buffalo."
The jerseys have gold numbers on the back and all jerseys will have "Buffalo" in the nameplate rather than a player's name. The New Era cap is royal blue with a gold brim. The logo is the same standing Buffalo as on the jerseys.
The Sabres' mascot, Sabretooth, and Sabres alumni will make appearances.
The game-worn jerseys will be autographed by the Bisons player and auctioned with proceeds going to the Buffalo Bisons Charitable Foundation and the Buffalo Sabres Foundation.
